新型コロナウイルスがまだ未知の病原菌とされていた中、豪華客船「ダイヤモンド・プリンセス」に乗船してた乗客と、日本で初めて感染者の対応を最前線で行った人々を描いた実話に基づく作品となっています。
ブラウン夫妻を演じたLouise Heal Kawai（ルイーズ・K）、Richard E.Wilson（リチャード・E・ウィルソン）による圧巻の演技力が作品を際立たせます。またノア＆ジャック兄弟を演じたMattheo Vêtu（マテオ・V）とBenjamin Vêtu（ベンジャミン・V）は本当の兄弟！作中で描かれる二人の絆にもご注目ください。
