We are proud to announce that Meisha Brooks, represented by Free Wave, has appeared in the NHK Morning Drama Series (Asadora), “Bakebake”!

Misha played the role of Martha, the woman Hearn was previously married to during his time in the United States. This marks Misha’s debut in a Japanese television drama, following her successful career as an actor and model in the U.S. Additionally, several other Free Wave actors appeared alongside her in the flashback scenes depicting Hearn’s life in America.

Meisha Brooks, with roots in both Canada and the U.S., is a multi-talented actress and model with a unique academic background. She majored in Mechanical Engineering at Harvard University and studied humanoid robotics and human-computer interaction at MIT.

Her transition from engineering to acting was driven by a deep curiosity to understand “what moves people.” Fueled by her motto, “Manifest your dreams,” she continues to expand her horizons. Her acting training includes studying under renowned coaches such as Anthony Abeson, Lesly Kahn, Bob Krakower, and Sharon Chatten, as well as completing improv and comedy training at the Upright Citizens Brigade.

Born in Boston, Misha spent her childhood in Nara Prefecture, making her fluent in Japanese and leading her to consider Japan her second home. She made her acting debut in “Strangers” (2018) and appeared in the hit U.S. drama series “Billions” in 2020. She has been further diversifying her skills by training in stunts with AAC Stunts (since 2022) and Jeet Kune Do at NYMAA (since 2023).

In 2025, she made her Japanese television debut after being cast as Martha, the first wife of the protagonist Hearn, in the NHK Morning Drama Series “Bakebake.”
