Born in California, USA. After teaching himself Japanese through manga and television, he received the Japanese Ministry of Education (MEXT) scholarship and came to Japan.
He majored in International Politics at the Faculty of Comparative Culture, Sophia University.

Through his work in translation, he began narrating commercials and television programs, eventually becoming a leading bilingual narrator and MC.
He has served as the studio partner for NHK’s “Basic English” radio programs for over seven years, and has appeared as a narrator, commentator, and MC on NHK WORLD broadcasts reaching over 180 countries.
