The Story Behind the Establishment of Free Wave
“There are incredible dancers here—I want to introduce them to Japan!”
In 1989, a phone call from a friend in the U.S. inspired the beginning of our journey. Despite no industry experience, no connections, and no English ability, curiosity and passion led to the founding of Free Wave in 1992 as a foreign-talent agency.
We named our company “Free Wave” to express our desire to be a free, transformative wave—one that can inspire change in the industry and the world.
As we move forward beyond our 34th year, we will continue evolving—unbound by industry norms or fixed ideas.
However, the values we have cherished since our founding will never change: the bonds and trust we share with our clients and talents, our commitment as a talent agency, and our desire to contribute to society through our work.

CEO Profile
Born in Mito City, Ibaraki Prefecture.
In 1989, appointed as the Japan Office Director of the U.S. corporation Star Dance Connection. Founded Free Wave Co., Ltd. in 1992 as a management agency for foreign dancers and models, later reorganizing it into a corporation in 2003.
Since then, she has led the company in a wide range of fields—including advertising, TV commercials, film productions, and events—building one of Japan’s leading foreign model agencies. Her personal passion is singing jazz.
